1. The Ministry of Science and Technology on Wednesday launched India’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) data bank that is aimed at propelling innovation and boosting the country’s national security. The initiative will provide researchers, startups, and developers access to high-quality, diverse datasets essential for creating scalable and inclusive AI solutions. It was launched by Minister of Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh at the 7th Edition of the ASSOCHAM AI Leadership Meet 2024.

As per a report by India Today, the India AI Mission continues its momentum with the allocation of ₹10,372 crore, focusing on developing indigenous AI technologies, including foundational models for major Indian languages, enhancing computer infrastructure, and fostering ethical AI practices. The initiative includes creating a dataset platform and expanding AI education and startup funding.
